Dr. Edmer Lazaro

Edmer found dance through colorguard. He was a marching member of the San Jose Raiders Independent World Guard from 1996-2001 and for the Santa Clara Vanguard Drum Corp in 1998 and 1999. He was on staff with the San Jose Raiders, James Logan High School World and Open Guard, Santa Clara Vanguard Winter Guard, Bluecoats Indoor, and Bluecoats Drum Corp. He has served in different roles as technician, movement instructor, designer, choreographer, and physical therapist. Edmer’s undergraduate education includes a BS in Kinesiology and BA in Theatre Arts and Dance. He went on to graduate school to receive his clinical doctorate in physical therapy and later an MS in Health Care Administration. Edmer is also a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopedic physical therapy. He owns a private practice in the San Francisco Bay Area. He has been involved in color guard for over 20 years. He enjoys teaching injury prevention and physical training for dancers, especially in the color guard world, so that they can have a deeper understanding of their bodies in motion and add years to their participation in the activity.
